04 – Lessons from the Great Depression

Course Description

This interactive course examines the events of the 1920s that led to the Great Depression, drawing parallels to the 2020s. We’ll examine the 1930s political and economic conditions and early World War II through firsthand accounts of the lives of a diverse group of Americans during this turbulent era. Questions and comments will be encouraged throughout the course.

Instructor

Ed Linz, a 1965 graduate of the Naval Academy, is the author of eight books, including a novel, works on the Great Depression and the Vietnam War, and, most recently, three children’s books. He holds advanced degrees from Oxford University and George Mason University and lives in Maine and Virginia.
