Course Description

What does it take for student-athletes to succeed in the classroom and on the field? This course provides an inside look at the academic, support planning, and life skills programming that help prepare Cyclone student-athletes for graduation and life beyond sports. Discover how discipline, resilience, and support shape the futures of these young men and women.

Instructor

Amber Giese was named Director of Athletics Academic Services (AAS) for the ISU Athletics Department in the fall of 2017. The AAS oversees all aspects related to academic development and success for over 450 student-athletes at ISU. Under her leadership, student-athletes at Iowa State have posted the highest grade-point average (3.37) and academic progress rate on record.
