Martha Johnson, BA (Oberlin), MBA (Yale), is a retired executive with experience at Cummins Engine, Ben & Jerry’s, SRA, Computer Sciences Corporation, the White House, Commerce Department, and as Administrator of the US General Services Administration. She belongs to Collegiate Presbyterian Church, where she helped found Labyrinth Coffee.

Course Description

For 50 years, businesses have experimented with arrangements to be responsive to social needs. Labyrinth Coffee was founded in 2024 in Ames and designed as a social enterprise, creating profits from its endeavor as a coffee shop. These funds are put towards social good instead of wealth creation. Housed at Collegiate Presbyterian Church, it focuses on sustainability, community building, living wages,and more. Come learn the story of Labyrinth Coffee and some history behind the social enterprise movement.
