LeRoy Kester

LeRoy Kester has coached various sports, taught middle school science and several adult education PC classes. He has been a member of Geocaching.com since 2005,with logged geocaches in Iowa and other states. Additionally, he has used handheld GPS units for bicycling and hiking off-road trails since the early 2000s.

Two weeks: Wednesday, Sept. 24 & Oct. 8, 2025 (no class Oct. 1)

Course Description

Geocaching is an easy hobby that you can enjoy near your home or while you travel.It is a modern variation of “hide and seek” that combines GPS (global positioning system) technology and people who hide caches (things in containers). Participants will learn the basics of geocaching: what a geocache is, equipment used, history of GPS and navigation, how to set up a free account, how to enjoy geocaching, and some variations from basic geocaching.
