Peter Hallock

Peter Hallock moved to Ames shortly before retiring from the D.O.T. He bought a house in Old Town, started researching it, and got hooked on Ames’ history. He has served on the city’s Historic Preservation Commission as well as the Ames History Museum board, and just likes to talk about Ames’ history.

Course Description

What do you know about the founding and early development of Ames? We will talk about what happened along the way from the earliest settlement, the community’s growth as a commercial and cultural center, and facilities that supported that growth up to about the start of WWII.
