Karl Mueller became Director of Ames National Laboratory in 2025. Mueller was a Professor of Chemistry at Penn State before he moved in 2010 to Pacific Northwest National Laboratory where he most recently served as the director of the Program Development Office for the Physical and Computational Sciences Directorate.
