Course Description
What was it like to live in WWII Los Alamos, NM, where the world’s first atomic bomb was built? What were the considerations that went into using the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Based on her research for her historical novel, author Galina Vromen will bring that monumental period to life and discuss its impact on the state of nuclear proliferation today.
Instructor
Galina Vromen spent over a decade as a journalist, mostly for Reuters in Europe, Mexico, and Israel. After retiring, she focused on writing “Hill of Secrets,” a novel set in WWII Los Alamos. Her interest in the dawn of the atomic age led her to explore issues of nuclear arms today. For more see www.galinavromen.com.
