Course Description
Life on the home front during WWII was marked by significant changes and sacrifices. We will look at the rationing of goods and support activities of patriotism by keeping “victory gardens,” scrap metal drives, and buying of war bonds. We will explore the new roles for women as “Rosie the Riveter” and “Code Breakers,” along with keeping families together while their husband was defending our country. We will also look at the roll “The Big Bands” and the radio played in the 1940s.
